Accounting Manager
We are looking for a qualified Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team. The Accounting Manager will report to the VP of Finance and will be responsible for the day-to-day activities supporting the Finance Department. A successful candidate will be highly motivated, have strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and take on a variety of assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day accounting functions, including the month-end close process, posting journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Process bi-weekly payroll including expense reimbursements and 401K contributions
- Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports for internal and external parties.
- Develop, implement, and maintain a document system of accounting policies and procedures and internal controls as the company plans for an IPO in Q2 2024
- Prepare SEC filings, including 10-Qs and 10-Ks0 and associated XBRL requirements
- Drive continuous improvements in processes with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging key systems
- Assist in the quarterly review and annual audit with external auditors and tax advisors
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting process
- Assist with special projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
- 2-4 years of accounting experience is required, public accounting and industry experience is preferred
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Independent and highly organized self-starter with the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work collaboratively across a small organization
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel and Outlook
- Experience with web-based accounting and project management software, proficiency with Sage Intacct and Bill.com is preferred.
